We try to go out for a walk every afternoon as a family. My kids haven’t started school in person yet, so this is our time to breathe fresh air. At the beginning of the quarantine, we all waited all day for the family walk, but after months of doing this I feel that we got to the point where we needed a little bit of innovation :). Today we tried to do a nature treasure hunt and my kids loved it! 

To create the treasure hunt just think about some of the things you might find around your neighborhood, and draw them on a piece of paper. Then give your kids the paper and stickers and ask them to cover the drawing with a sticker when they find the item.

This game was a success! They kids were really excited to go on the walk and find what was on the paper. It was also an opportunity to really observe and appreciate everything in their surroundings rather than just walk through it. It was really wonderful.

Búsqueda de Naturaleza

Desde que empezó la cuarentena tratamos de ir a una caminata en familia todos los días cuando baja el sol. Mis hijos todavía no han empezado a ir al colegio en persona entonces esta es nuestra oportunidad de tomar un poco de aire fresco. Al principio de la cuarentena todos esperábamos emocionados el momento de la caminata, pero después de meses de hacerla llegamos al punto en que necesitamos un poco de innovación :). Hoy probamos hacer una “búsqueda del tesoro” en la naturaleza y a mis hijos les encantó! 

Para hacer esta búsqueda solo piensa en algunas cosas, plantas y animales que puedas encontrar alrededor de tu barrio,y  dibújalas en un papel. Dale el papel a tus hijos junto con una hoja de calcomanías y pídeles que cubran cada uno de los dibujos con las calcomanías cuando encuentren esas cosas durante la caminata. 

Este juego realmente fue un éxito! Los niños otra vez estaban emocionados de ir a la caminata y buscar lo que había en el papel. Además fue una oportunidad para realmente observar y apreciar lo que encontraban en el camino. Fue maravilloso.
